Music that follows Ayla’s journey.
One of my favorite parts of writing The Girl Without an Imagination was discovering the music that seemed to rise naturally out of Ayla’s world. I didn’t set out to build a soundtrack—but somewhere along the way, the right songs found me. They shaped scenes, deepened emotions, and echoed Ayla’s transformation in ways words alone couldn’t.
Below is the official 12-track soundtrack I created while writing the book. Each piece mirrors a part of Ayla’s journey—her loneliness, her wonder, her courage, her heartbreak, and ultimately her awakening to who she truly is.
If you’ve ever wondered what The Girl Without an Imagination “sounds” like, this is it.

1. Arrival of the Birds — The Cinematic Orchestra
A gentle, hopeful opening—like an awakening. This piece captures the quiet beauty of Luminara and the innocence in Ayla’s earliest steps.
2. Cornfield Chase — Hans Zimmer
Urgent yet full of wonder, this piece mirrors the moment Elior shapes a dazzling, joyful space out of pure imagination—his way of trying to bring light back into Ayla’s eyes.
3. On the Nature of Daylight — Max Richter
One of the most emotional tracks ever written. It reflects Ayla’s pain, her isolation, and the heaviness of being the only Lumi child without a Phanta.

Soft, glowing, magical—perfect for the first spark of imagination beginning to flicker inside her.

A song that builds and builds, mirroring Ayla’s own growing courage as she begins her journey beyond the familiar.

The heart of the entire soundtrack. This piece became the emotional theme of the book—Ayla’s hope to herself, her world, and her future.

Haunting, beautiful, and stirring—this reflects the book’s deepest emotional beats, especially the loneliness Ayla must walk through to find her strength.

Graceful and uplifting—a musical breath of beauty during Ayla’s most hopeful moments.

Reflective and powerful, this track carries the weight of destiny—the idea that every moment in Ayla’s life has been leading her toward something greater.
11. Transformation — The Cinematic Orchestra
As the title suggests, this piece fits the turning point of Ayla’s journey—where courage and imagination finally meet.
12. Remember Me — Thomas Bergersen
The perfect finale. Emotional, sweeping, and full of meaning. This song reminds me of Ayla’s legacy and the impact she leaves on her world.
