It’s hard to believe that my fifth novel is launching this Thursday, November 20—The Girl Without an Imagination.
Five years into this author journey, and somehow book five still feels surreal. This story has already received the 5-star seal from Readers’ Favorite, and I couldn’t be more grateful. When I was writing it, I knew I had something special—one of those rare books an author gets to write in a lifetime.
It may sound a little sentimental or even silly, but I even created an official soundtrack for this story. The song that truly captures Ayla’s journey is “Promise,” a breathtaking and emotional piece by Thomas Bergersen. If you’d like to explore the music behind the book, I’ve posted the full playlist on my website blog: www.jeff-orlowski.com.
Below is the back cover blurb for The Girl Without an Imagination.
From award winning author Jeff Orlowski comes a story about a girl who had nothing…and imagined everything.
In the world of Luminara, every child is born with a Phanta—a magical companion that brings their imagination to life.
Every child…except Ayla.
Mocked, overlooked, and known only as The Girl Without an Imagination, Ayla has spent her life believing she’s broken. Desperate to understand her place in a world built on imagination, she sets out to find the mythical Phanta Tree, hoping it holds the answer to why she alone was born without a Phanta.
What she finds is not just a tree, but a truth long forgotten. There, at the heart of imagination itself, Ayladiscovers that the power to save her world may lie in the one thing only she can do: imagine what’s never been before.
A gently heartbreaking, ultimately hopeful coming-of-age tale about courage in loneliness, strength in difference, and the magic that lives inside us all.
I hope you’ll join Ayla on this once-in-a-lifetime journey.
