As the 2022-2023 school year ends, I wanted to thank the many schools who had me out this year for an author visit. I enjoyed speaking to your kindergartners through your sixth graders about unleashing their imaginations.
I made some great memories this year from visiting schools and I loved meeting the students, especially the student who wanted me to sign her sweatshirt she wore. I had to decline politely, for obvious reasons. The students asked me some fantastic questions, and I particularly liked one a fifth grader asked which was, “How does it feel to be world famous?” I chuckled at that question. Even though I have sold books overseas, I don’t consider myself to be world famous. It especially touched me by how many students came up to me after my presentations to tell me I had inspired them to write a story. What a feeling to hear that!!!
Since the school year has ended, I will be focusing on finishing the last book of the Avery Green Trilogy due out this fall. Although every time that I sit down to write, Molly wants on my lap. I think she believes she is helping me to get inspired.
